My Heart Opened and I Went In, Episode 454
When our lives change in an instant, when we find ourselves in relational difficulty, when circumstances shift and we no longer understand what to do... what then?
In this week's source, Ingrid Goff-Maidoff invites us to trust the inherent openness and holding power of our hearts as both a support and as a pathway. And that's our conversation this week - how to we learn to trust the many-chambered heart that was given to each of us without our having to do a single thing? And what might it be to respond to the hugeness of life, with all its intense joys and searing difficulties, with the qualities that our hearts can bring?
Hosted as always by Lizzie Winn and Justin Wise of Thirdspace.
Our source for this week:
My Heart Opened and I Went In
One day I looked around
and all my certainties we gone.
(While once I'd thought I knew some things
now there was nothing to be sure of.)
How could life go on, business as usual?
Shattered, I looked for bits of the lost threads.
Whenever I found one, I would grasp hold
and add it to a frail weaving back of the old ways.
But my weaving was too loose,
and so it scattered like a cobweb
on the first strong wind.
To be empy handed, empty of reason-
was this safe? How would I survive it?
I had no choice.
My heart opened and I went in.
